LGBTQ CENTER OF CARRBORO
Mobilizing and empowering
Carrboro's LGBTQIA+ community.
WHO WE ARE
Inclusivity - Mutual Care - Community
Our aim is to mobilize and empower Carrboro's LGBTQIA+ community through mutual care and support. We hope to strengthen networks in Carrboro and surrounding areas through pop-up events, with long-term goals of establishing a drop-in center for hosting groups, workshops, events, and social activities, in the hope that our center might one day help support programs to assist LGBTQIA+ youth and young adults with housing insecurity and homelessness.
Queer Family Dinner and More
Since 2016, we've been gathering in homes for regular potlucks and shared community, with a focus on mutual support and care. We aim to be inclusive and intersectional in our work. We also aim to center the experiences of those whose multiple marginalized identities leave them peripheral to mainstream LGBTQIA+ communities.
